Savor a glass of Wine to your choice!
I asked one of my wine expert friend to write article. Here it goes:
'I ask of life, but little,
A glass of wine, shade and sunshine,
And thy sonorous whisper,
I am thine!'This is perhaps, written by a poet not about to sniff wine! Actually, it must be the after- effect!
The fickle mind and the glass of wine! What more is required to make one wild and romantic? Savor a drink and become more clever, in your own way!
Wine is the topic that fascinates a wine-enthusiast! Consumption is mostly a matter of individual taste and choice! The quality of wine is related to its price!
What is a good quality wine? On fundamental aspects, there is agreement on many counts! Wine-lovers are very rigid in their taste. They like a particular brand without assigning any reasons as such. 'I just love it!-that's all! Fortunately for them, their likable brand will never go out of stock! The world has shrunk, due to the advent of Internet. You can place orders, sitting at home—just a click away!
Most of the all time available brands of wine in the market are meant to be consumed instantly, without wasting a bit of time. But there are some brands, worth waiting and watching. Taste grows with waiting—it is worth the wait!
There are young wines and old wines! No need to advise wine-lovers that old is gold. They all, without exception know it! The presence of acidity is apparent in young wines! Wine is the one area, where age is respected! 'Senior Citizen' wine bottles command more respect and money!
Wine is generally described by class and what matters most is its alcohol content! Class I wines, often referred to as 'Light Wine' or 'Red Wine' and contain alcohol content between 7 to 14 % by volume. Some wines are flavored with herbs. 'Fortified' wines mean, those with greater concentration!
The pesticide menace has affected the wine sector also, and here again the customer has always to remember that he is the king. The declaration on the label pasted on the wine bottle needs to be seen carefully for indications about the amount of sulfates. During the process of wine making it is the common process to add sulfur, to save it, that is to protect it from the effect of unwanted organisms. Those sensitive to sulfur, may suffer from allergic reaction! There are however, prescribed standards for this, about which consumer-awareness is a must!
Do you know how to test the wine? Authentic knowledge of it, will make you a wise purchaser, apart from gaining popularity amongst your wine-loving friends! But let your knowledge be well-studied. The taste and color of the wine varies from season to season! It also depends as to from where the raw material for the product came from?
Now, why waste time? Say cheers and click your glass! Or is it the other way round- click your glass first and say cheers! The heady wine is showing its effects, even before the first sip…!!
