Guidelines on drinking wine

Ever wondered what amount of wine was enough for you? If yes, then check out the limits given below:

  • For men, four standard drinks a day is quite enough. But never go beyond six on any one day.
    For women, two standard drinks per day is enough.
  • For men two drinks in the first hour and one an hour thereafter.
    For women there should be no more than one drink an hour.

These limits are for a man, who weighs 60 kg and a woman, who weighs 50kg.

But if you are on medication, don't follow these guidelines. You should also not have a family history of alcohol-related problems and not be with a condition that is made worse by drinking

Remember, guidelines will vary for you if you are at a high risk of heart disease, mental illness or have a family history of alcohol dependency, are pregnant or breastfeeding your child.
